Travis J. Muff, PhD
Dr. Travis Muff brings years of knowledge and experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, and synthetic biology developed over the course of his career. Using biotechnology to create the microbial factories that will drive the future has been his ultimate goal. Travis received his PhD at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he discovered and characterized a new class of protein phosphatases in the bacterial chemotaxis signaling system. Following his doctoral work, he completed postdoctoral research stints at The Scripps Research Institute studying signal transduction cascades in Bacillus subtilis and at the University of California, San Diego working on algal transcriptional regulation and new genetic tools. Since, he has worked in the biotechnology field at algal technology leader Heliae and anti-aging startup Human Rejuvenation Biotechnologies.
